Situation
- Altruas was engaged with this client supporting their technology and executive leadership teams around strategy, portfolio management and project delivery
- Client asked Altruas to support their company with three organization designs, one specifically related to the Technology Application Development group
- Client continued to expand scope and approve new projects which would meet a bottleneck after the program management team injected new items into the project pipeline for IT application development
- Client was investing in growth of top-line, which did not provide a large amount of budget for the organizations to support the growth
- Reviewed current-state organization structure, span of control, capabilities and business functions / organizations to establish baseline for model design
- Designed two models, one by only showing a new near-shore model team and a second to show a revised client technology delivery team with near-shore integrated as a scalability lever
- Approved for second option was received and team provided education to support new org structure, including near-shore team
- Near-shore team (initially three team members) visited the US client location for 4-5 weeks to support onboarding
- Technology (vpn, collaboration tools, etc. were set in place to support team
